Terms and conditions
UniCeramica 10-year limited warranty.
This warranty applies only to UniCeramica porcelain surfacing materials supplied in New Zealand and does not apply to any other product supplied or manufactured by another party. It applies only to materials permanently installed in the interior of a single-family residence that have not been moved from their original installation, and only where materials and services have been paid in full.
If UniCeramica surfacing materials fail due to a manufacturing defect, UniCeramica will, at its sole discretion, repair or replace the affected materials. We will seek the best possible result, however an exact colour or pattern match is never guaranteed. All decisions regarding this warranty are at the sole discretion of UniCeramica. No representative, dealer, fabricator or other person is authorised to make any warranty or promise on our behalf.
Conditions
- Materials must be maintained in accordance with the UniCeramica care and maintenance guidelines.
- To request service, contact the company that sold you the material, or UniCeramica directly, within seven (7) days of the failure and before the warranty expires.
- This warranty is not transferable and does not cover any residence where the owner is not the occupant.
Exclusions
- Commercial use, including stores, rental properties, offices and other places of business.
- Outdoor applications and use as flooring material.
- Improper use or abuse, including mishandling, excessive heat, chemical damage and thermal shock.
- Chips, impact damage and scratches. Porcelain is highly scratch resistant but not scratch proof; always use a cutting board.
- Routine maintenance such as removing stains or water spots.
- Failures caused by fabrication or installation not following UniCeramica's prescribed procedures, including inadequate support of overhangs, incorrectly cut mitred joints and minimum edge detail requirements.
- Defects visible at the time of fabrication that were not avoided during fabrication. Fabricators must visually inspect all material before fabrication and again before installation.
- Seam appearance or performance, adhesives, caulk, sink installation and other accessory items.
- Material that has been milled, reduced in thickness, bent, curved or altered from its factory-applied finish, or where mechanical fasteners have been secured directly into the material.
- Natural variation in colour, tone, veining, size, shape and pattern distribution. Samples are representative only and are not an exact replication of the slabs supplied.
- Chips or cracks resulting from dry cutting or polishing, and blemishes smaller than a 10mm radius.
- Additional modifications such as plumbing, electrical, tiling, cabinetry or flooring required to repair or replace a covered product.
UniCeramica is not responsible for damage or injury caused in whole or in part by acts of God, job site conditions, architectural or engineering design, structural movement, vandalism or accidents. UniCeramica shall not be liable, in contract or tort, for any direct, indirect, consequential, incidental, special, exemplary or punitive damages arising out of the use or inability to use the products covered by this warranty.
This is the complete warranty for UniCeramica porcelain and supersedes all other warranties and representations, whether oral or written. It gives you specific legal rights, and you may also have other rights under applicable New Zealand consumer law.
